I find it very rude if you’re talking to someone and they proceed to text. I think it is very rude because that person is technically just ignoring you when they should be giving you their whole entire attention. When someone is talking to you, they always deserve your whole entire attention because you are showing respect. If you continue to text while someone is talking, you are disrespecting that person. In addition, the person that is texting is giving off the impression that texting is more important that what you have to say. Lastly, whenever someone is talking, don’t text because they deserve your respect by you listening.
5 etiquette rules for texting
1.To avoid temptation of texting, turn off your phone or don’t even bring it to a social event.
2.Don’t text at social events unless it is an emergency.
3.If someone is texting you, tell them you have to go because you are at a social event.
4.Don’t leave your phone in front of you because you will be tempted to pick it up and check your messages.
5.If you are talking to a group of friends and texting, put that person on speaker phone so you can all talk. Therefore, no one is left out of the conversation.
