Web 2.0 is me, myself and I

Emerging technology has already affected today's literacy. I think technolgy has made people of all ages. In today's society we use many abbreviations such as "lol" "dkm" "dcm" and much more. I understand if you use any of these abbreviations but not when you use one for almost every word you make. How am I supposed to understand something like "WICBSST" meant "Wow, I can't believe she said that".
When I see people on facebook or twitter type like this I can't help but think..

Typing that sentence doesn't take a long time so take the time and write out the full sentence and use proper grammar. People are even too lazy to type the word "you" and just replace it with the letter. I also think that people get careless when they are typing something out for school. I myself have thought that since technology has made spell and grammar check I do not need to read over my work. But this is wrong, you do need to reread your work because sometimes spell check changes your mispelled word into a completely different one. In addition, emerging technology has influenced today's literacy in a postive way. People are able to access articles and books much easier with e-readers and the internet. People no longer need to go out and buy books, they are able to access them while they are at home with the interent.

Web 2.0 is challenging us to "rethink ourselves" because of the new technology that has emerged. The new technology makes us rethink about of the things we post on the internet because there are predators out there that will stalk you based on what you post. I also know that we should be careful on what we post on the internet because it can affect your career. I've heard from numerous people that after you have done a job interview, the person will google you or look you up on facebook. If you are careless and posted a picture of yourself drunk on facebook, the interviewer would automatically not consider you anymore. We also have to rethink about our education with emerging technolgy. I know it is easy to copy and paste work you have seen on the internet but that is wrong. You are stealing someone's work and presenting it as if you made it. Any teacher, whether it is one in elementary, high school, college or university will not accept your work. They will give you a zero and some will make sure that on your record there will be something said about plagiarism. With emerging technologies we should learn that the easy way out is usually not the right path to take because "anything worth doing is worth doing well"

Always Be My Baby by Mariah Carey

My first impression of Mariah Carey's "Always Be My Baby" was "WOW, Mariah is so pretty in this music video" This song was made in the year 1995 and I saw this music only about a year or 2 ago. Looking at Mariah Carey then and now, not only has her image changed but so has her music. I found that this music video was a good interpretation of "young love". I think the theme of this music video is to show that your first love will always be a part of you. Although you and your first love haven't seen each in years, you'll still remember them because they were your first love. In the lyrics Mariah Carey sings "time can`t erase a feeling this strong" which supports the theme.  I think the inspiration of this music video was Mariah Carey's first love and how her first love will "always be HER baby". This is a good song because many people can relate to this because everyone has experienced love for the first time. The music video seems as if it is Mariah Carey as a young girl expierincing love for the first time. In the music video Mariah Carey is narrating the story of the her and her first love. The music video is taken place at a camp where the 2 kids fell in love. Mariah Carey seems like she went back to this camp to remember the memories she cherished with that boy. I don't think this music video shows any Gospel Values because the song is just a simple song about young love. I think the director of this music video did an amazing job because the music video matches the song. Usually when I hear a song I picture the music video in my mind and this is how I would picture the music video to be. In the end, I really love Mariah Carey and her music.
